Arise, O LORD ; save me, O my God ! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek ; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
For they have persecuted him whom You Yourself have smitten, And they tell of the pain of those whom You have wounded.
"Behold, He struck the rock so that waters gushed out, And streams were overflowing ; Can He give bread also ? Will He provide meat for His people ?"
And smote all the firstborn in Egypt, The first issue of their virility in the tents of Ham.
He drove His adversaries backward ; He put on them an everlasting reproach.
My heart has been smitten like grass and has withered away, Indeed, I forget to eat my bread.
He struck down their vines also and their fig trees, And shattered the trees of their territory.
He also struck down all the firstborn in their land, The first fruits of all their vigor.
The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night.
He smote the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and beast.
He smote many nations And slew mighty kings,
To Him who smote the Egyptians in their firstborn, For His lovingkindness is everlasting,
To Him who smote great kings, For His lovingkindness is everlasting,
