31 Y el rey le dijo: Haz como él ha dicho; arremete contra él, mátalo y entiérralo, para que quites de mí y de la casa de mi padre la sangre que Joab derramó sin causa.

1 Kings 2:31

And the king said unto him, do as he hath said, and fall upon
him, and bury him
Let him die where he is, slay him upon the spot, and then bury him; not by the altar, but in his own sepulchre, as later related, that in, give orders to bury him there; for Benaiah being a priest, could not be concerned in the burial of him, and besides it was below the dignity of his office:

that thou mayest take away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from
me, and from the house of my father;
which had been too long connived at, and had called for vengeance; and now here was a proper opportunity upon fresh sins committed to avenge it, and so remove the guilt, which lay upon him and his father's house, for not inflicting deserved punishment on him for it.

29 Y se le informó al rey Salomón que Joab había huido a la tienda del SEÑOR, y que estaba junto al altar. Entonces Salomón envió a Benaía, hijo de Joiada, diciendo: Ve y arremete contra él.

30 Benaía entró en la tienda del SEÑOR y le dijo: Así ha dicho el rey: "Sal de ahí." Pero él dijo: No, pues moriré aquí. Benaía llevó la respuesta al rey, diciendo: Así habló Joab y así me respondió.

32 El SEÑOR hará volver su sangre sobre su propia cabeza, porque él arremetió contra dos hombres más justos y mejores que él y los mató a espada sin que mi padre David lo supiera: a Abner, hijo de Ner, jefe del ejército de Israel, y a Amasa, hijo de Jeter, jefe del ejército de Judá.

33 Su sangre, pues, recaerá sobre la cabeza de Joab y sobre la cabeza de su descendencia para siempre; pero para David y su descendencia, para su casa y su trono, haya paz de parte del SEÑOR para siempre.
