2 Y enviaré un ángel delante de ti, y echaré fuera al cananeo, al amorreo, al heteo, al ferezeo, al heveo y al jebuseo.

Exodus 33:2

And I will send an angel before thee
Not the angel before promised, ( Exodus 23:20 ) the Angel of his presence, the eternal Word and Son of God, but a created angel; and so Aben Ezra observes, he does not say the Angel that was known, that his name was in him; though even this was to be looked upon as a favour, and showed that he had not utterly cast them off:

and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite,
the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite;
who were now the inhabitants of the land, and these he promises drive out, to make way for their possession of it; and that "by his hand", as the Targum of Jonathan interprets it, by the hand of the angel. Only six nations are mentioned, though there were seven; the Girgashite is omitted, but added in the Septuagint version.

1 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Anda, sube de aquí, tú y el pueblo que has sacado de la tierra de Egipto, a la tierra de la cual juré a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob, diciendo: "A tu descendencia la daré."

2 Y enviaré un ángel delante de ti, y echaré fuera al cananeo, al amorreo, al heteo, al ferezeo, al heveo y al jebuseo.

3 Sube a una tierra que mana leche y miel; pues yo no subiré en medio de ti, oh Israel, no sea que te destruya en el camino, porque eres un pueblo de dura cerviz.

4 Cuando el pueblo oyó esta mala noticia, hicieron duelo, y ninguno de ellos se puso sus atavíos.

5 Porque el SEÑOR había dicho a Moisés: Di a los hijos de Israel: "Sois un pueblo de dura cerviz; si por un momento yo me presentara en medio de ti, te destruiría. Ahora pues, quítate tus atavíos, para que yo sepa qué he de hacer contigo."
