And he is the head1 of the body, the church;2 he is the beginning and the firstborn3 from among the dead,4 so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
For God was pleased5 to have all his fullness6 dwell in him,
and through him to reconcile7 to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,8 by making peace9 through his blood,10 shed on the cross.
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies11 in your minds12 because ofa your evil behavior.
But now he has reconciled13 you by Christ's physical body14 through death to present you15 holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation16--
if you continue17 in your faith, established18 and firm, not moved from the hope19 held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven,20 and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.21
