and through him to reconcile1 to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,2 by making peace3 through his blood,4 shed on the cross.
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies5 in your minds6 because ofa your evil behavior.
But now he has reconciled7 you by Christ's physical body8 through death to present you9 holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation10--
if you continue11 in your faith, established12 and firm, not moved from the hope13 held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven,14 and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.15
Now I rejoice16 in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions,17 for the sake of his body, which is the church.1825
I have become its servant19 by the commission God gave me20 to present to you the word of God21 in its fullness--
the mystery22 that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints.
To them God has chosen to make known23 among the Gentiles the glorious riches24 of this mystery, which is Christ in you,25 the hope of glory.
We proclaim him, admonishing26 and teaching everyone with all wisdom,27 so that we may present everyone perfect28 in Christ.
To this end I labor,29 struggling30 with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.31
