Ye slew (dieceirisasqe). First aorist middle indicative of diaceirizomai, old verb from dia and ceir (hand), to take in hand, manage, to lay hands on, manhandle, kill. In the N.T. only here and Acts 26:21 . Hanging him upon a tree (kremasante epi xulou). First aorist active participle of kremannumi (kremannuw seen already in Matthew 18:6 and Luke 23:39 ). Peter refers to Deuteronomy 21:23 as Paul does in Galatians 3:13 , the curse pronounced on every one who "hangs upon a tree."
