But thou shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.

my father's: i; e., Where the family of Haran his brother had settled; and where he himself had remained some time with his father Terah. Nahor did not dwell at Ur of the Chaldees, but at Haran in Mesopotamia. The true worship of God seems to have been in some measure preserved in this family, though afterwards corrupted.; 31:19
