Just as 1Jannes and Jambres 2opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, 3men corrupted in mind and 4disqualified regarding the faith.
But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, 5as was that of those two men.
106You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness,
my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me 7at Antioch, 8at Iconium, and 9at Lystra--which persecutions I endured; yet 10from them all 11the Lord rescued me.
Indeed, all who desire to 12live a godly life in Christ Jesus 13will be persecuted,
while 14evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and 15being deceived.
But as for you, 16continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whoma you learned it
and how 17from childhood you have been acquainted with 18the sacred writings, 19which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
1620All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
that 21the man of Godb may be competent, 22equipped 23for every good work.
