28
1Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all
2the flock, in which
3the Holy Spirit has made you
4overseers,
5to care for
6the church of God, which he
7obtained
8with his own blood.
29
I
9know that after my departure
10fierce wolves will come in among you,
11not sparing the flock;
30
and
12from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31
Therefore
13be alert, remembering that
14for three years I did not cease night or day
15to admonish everyone
16with tears.
32
And now
17I commend you to God and to
18the word of his grace, which is able to
19build you up and to give you
20the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
33
21I coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.
34
22You yourselves know that
23these hands ministered to my necessities and
24to those who were with me.
35
In all things
25I have shown you that
26by working hard in this way we must
27help the weak and
28remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said,
'It is more blessed 29to give than to receive.'"
36
And when he had said these things,
30he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37
And
31there was much weeping on the part of all;
32they embraced Paul and
33kissed him,
38
being sorrowful most of all because of
34the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And
35they accompanied him to the ship.
