Acts 2:33-43

33 ¹Being therefore ²exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from ³the Father ⁴the promise of the Holy Spirit, ⁵he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.

34 For ⁶David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, ⁷"'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,

35 until I make your enemies your footstool.'

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ⁸God has made him ⁹both Lord and Christ, this Jesus ¹⁰whom you crucified."

37 Now when ¹¹they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, ¹²what shall we do?"

38 And Peter said to them, ¹³"Repent and ¹⁴be baptized every one of you ¹⁵in the name of Jesus Christ ¹⁶for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ¹⁷the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For ¹⁸the promise is for you and ¹⁹for your children and for all ²⁰who are far off, everyone ²¹whom the Lord our God calls to himself."

40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ²²"Save yourselves from this ²³crooked generation."

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and ²⁴there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 And ²⁵they devoted themselves to the apostles' ²⁶teaching and the ²⁷fellowship, to ²⁸the breaking of bread and the prayers.

43 And awe^[a] came upon every soul, and ²⁹many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.
