among whom we all once lived in 1the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the bodya and the mind, and 2were by nature 3children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
Butb God, being 4rich in mercy, 5because of the great love with which he loved us,
even 6when we were dead in our trespasses, 7made us alive together with Christ--8by grace you have been saved--
and raised us up with him and 9seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable 10riches of his grace in 11kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For 12by grace you have been saved 13through faith. And this is 14not your own doing; 15it is the gift of God,
916not a result of works, 17so that no one may boast.
For 18we are his workmanship, 19created in Christ Jesus 20for good works, 21which God prepared beforehand, 22that we should walk in them.
Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called "the uncircumcision" by what is called 23the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands--
remember 24that you were at that time separated from Christ, 25alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to 26the covenants of promise, 27having no hope and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were 28far off have been brought near 29by the blood of Christ.
