7 These are the days of the years of Abraham's life, 175 years.
8 Abraham 1breathed his last and 2died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people.
9 Isaac and Ishmael 3his sons buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, east of Mamre,
10 the field 4that Abraham purchased from the Hittites. 5There Abraham was buried, with Sarah his wife.
11 After the death of Abraham, God blessed Isaac his son. And Isaac settled at 6Beer-lahai-roi.
12 These are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, 7whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's servant, bore to Abraham.
13 8These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, named in the order of their birth: 9Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and 10Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
15 Hadad, 11Tema, 12Jetur, 13Naphish, and Kedemah.
16 These are the sons of Ishmael and these are their names, by their villages and by their encampments, 14twelve princes according to their tribes.
17 (These are the years of the life of Ishmael: 137 years. He 15breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.)

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 25

This chapter contains an account of Abraham's marriage with another woman, and of the children he had by her and of their posterity Ge 25:1-4; of Abraham's disposal of his substance; and his sons, Ge 25:5,6; of the years of his life, his death and burial, Ge 25:7-11; of the children of Ishmael, and of the years of his life, and of his death, Ge 25:12-18; and of the sons of Isaac the fruit of prayer, and of the oracle concerning them before they were born, and of their temper and disposition, conduct and behaviour, Ge 25:19-34.
