14
Having said this, she turned around and
1saw Jesus standing,
2but she did not know that it was Jesus.
15
Jesus said to her,
3"Woman, why are you weeping? 4Whom are you seeking?" Supposing him to be
5the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away."
16
Jesus said to her,
"Mary." She turned and said to him in Aramaic,
6"Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).
17
Jesus said to her,
"Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to 7my brothers and say to them, 8'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to 9my God and your God.'"
18
Mary Magdalene
10went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord"--and that he had said these things to her.
Jesus Appears to the Disciples
19 11On the evening
12of that day, the first day of the week,
13the doors being locked where the disciples were
14for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them,
15"Peace be with you."
20
When he had said this,
16he showed them his hands and his side. Then
17the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21
Jesus said to them again,
"Peace be with you. As 18the Father has sent me, 19even so I am sending you."
22
And when he had said this, he
20breathed on them and said to them,
21"Receive the Holy Spirit.
23
22If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld."

24 Now
23Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.
