1many of the people believed in him. They said,
2"When the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done?"
Officers Sent to Arrest Jesus
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd
3muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent
4officers to arrest him.

Jesus then said,
5"I will be with you a little longer, and then 6I am going to him who sent me.

7You will seek me and you will not find me. Where I am you cannot come."

The Jews said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we will not find him?
8Does he intend to go to
9the Dispersion among
10the Greeks and teach the Greeks?

What does he mean by saying,
11'You will seek me and you will not find me,' and,
'Where I am you cannot come'?"
Rivers of Living Water
37 12On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out,
13"If anyone thirsts, let him 14come to me and drink.

Whoever believes in me, 15as the Scripture has said, 16'Out of his heart will flow rivers of 17living water.'"

Now
18this he said about the Spirit,
19whom those who believed in him were to receive,
20for as yet the Spirit had not been
21given,
22because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Division Among the People
40 When they heard these words,
23some of the people said, "This really is
24the Prophet."

Others said, "This is
25the Christ." But some said,
26"Is the Christ to come from Galilee?
