Luke 24:40-50

And when he had said this, 1he showed them his hands and his feet.
And while they still disbelieved 2for joy and were marveling, 3he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
They gave him a piece of broiled fish,[a]
and he took it and ate before them.
Then he said to them, 4"These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, 5that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."
Then 6he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
and said to them, "Thus 7it is written, 8that the Christ should suffer and on the third day 9rise from the dead,
and that 10repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed 11in his name 12to all nations, 13beginning from Jerusalem.
14You are witnesses of these things.
And behold, I am sending 15the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you 16are clothed with 17power 18from on high."

The Ascension

Then 19he led them out as far as 20Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.
