Matthew 10:10-20

no bag for your journey, nor two tunics[a] nor sandals nor a staff, for 1the laborer deserves his food.
And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart.
As you enter the house, 2greet it.
And if the house is 3worthy, let 4your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let 5your peace return to you.
And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, 6shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.
Truly, I say to you, 7it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for 8the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

Persecution Will Come

9"Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be 10wise as serpents and 11innocent as doves.
Beware of men, for 12they will deliver you over to courts and flog you 13in their synagogues,
14and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, 15to bear witness before them and the Gentiles.
16When 17they deliver you over, 18do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for 19what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.
20For it is not you who speak, but 21the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
