19
The Son of Man came 1eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, 2a friend of 3tax collectors and sinners!' Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds."[a]
Woe to Unrepentant Cities
204Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.
21
5"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in 6Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22
7But I tell you, it will be more bearable on 8the day of judgment for 9Tyre and Sidon than for you.
23
And you, 10Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to 11Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24
12But I tell you that 13it will be more tolerable on 14the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you."
Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest
2515At that time Jesus declared, "I thank you, Father, 16Lord of heaven and earth, that 17you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and 18revealed them to little children;
26
yes, Father, for such was your 19gracious will.[b]
27
20All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son 21except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone 22to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28
23Come to 24me, all who labor and are 25heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29
Take my yoke upon you, and 26learn from me, for I am 27gentle and lowly in heart, and 28you will find rest for your souls.
