12 Ma, avanti tutte queste cose, metteranno le mani sopra voi, e vi perseguiranno, dandovi in man delle raunanze, e mettendovi in prigione; traendovi ai re, ed a’ rettori, per lo mio nome.

Luke 21:12

But before all these
Before all these things come to pass: they shall lay their hands on you;
as the high priest, the priests, and the captain of the temple did upon the apostles, ( Acts 4:1 Acts 4:3 Acts 4:17 Acts 4:18 ) and persecute you;
as upon the death of Stephen, ( Acts 8:1 ) delivering you up to the synagogues;
to be scourged there; or to the courts of judicature, the consistories of the Jews, their great sanhedrim; before these the apostles were brought, ( Acts 4:6 Acts 4:7 Acts 4:15 Acts 4:17 ) and into prisons;
as were all the apostles together, and Peter at another time separately, ( Acts 4:3 Acts 4:18 ) ( 12:4 ) being brought before kings and rulers, for my name's sake;
for being called by his name, and calling upon it; for professing, and preaching his Gospel; (See Gill on Matthew 10:18).

10 Allora disse loro: Una gente si leverà contro all’altra gente, ed un regno contro all’altro.
11 E in ogni luogo vi saranno gran tremoti, e fami, e pestilenze; vi saranno eziandio de’ prodigi spaventevoli, e dei gran segni dal cielo.
12 Ma, avanti tutte queste cose, metteranno le mani sopra voi, e vi perseguiranno, dandovi in man delle raunanze, e mettendovi in prigione; traendovi ai re, ed a’ rettori, per lo mio nome.
13 Ma ciò vi riuscirà in testimonianza.
14 Mettetevi adunque in cuore di non premeditar come risponderete a vostra difesa.
