Numbers 3:3

These [are] the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that
were anointed
With the holy, anointing oil, with which they were anointed when, Aaron was and they only, see ( Exodus 30:30 ) ;

whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office;
that is, whom Moses consecrated, by anointing them, putting the priest's garments on them, offering sacrifice for them, and filling their hands with sacrifices which is the phrase here used for consecration: see ( Exodus 29:15-24 ) .

Numbers 3:3 In-Context

1 This is the family of Aaron and Moses at the time the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai.
2 Aaron had four sons: Nadab, the oldest, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 They were anointed and ordained as priests,
4 but Nadab and Abihu were killed when they offered unholy fire to the Lord in the Sinai Desert. They had no children, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during Aaron's lifetime.
5 The Lord said to Moses,
