Again there was a day when the sons of Godcame to present themselves before the LORD, and Satanalsocameamong them to present himself before the LORD.

The LORDsaid to Satan, "Have you considered** My servantJob? For there is noonelike him on the earth, a blameless and uprightmanfearingGod and turningaway from evil. And he stillholdsfast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him withoutcause."

But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolishwomenspeaks. Shall we indeedacceptgood from God and not acceptadversity?" In allthisJob did not sin with his lips.

Now when Job'sthreefriendsheard of allthisadversity that had come upon him, they cameeachone from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointmenttogether to come to sympathize with him and comfort him.

When they lifted up their eyes at a distance and did not recognize him, they raised their voices and wept. And each of them tore his robe and they threwdustover their heads toward the sky.
