and he went out to meetAsa and said to him, "Listen to me, Asa, and allJudah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

Now when Asaheardthesewords and the prophecy which Azariah the son of Oded the prophet spoke, he tookcourage and removed the abominableidols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the citieswhich he had captured in the hillcountry of Ephraim. He then restored the altar of the LORDwhich was in front of the porch of the LORD.

He gatheredallJudah and Benjamin and those from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who resided with them, for manydefected to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

AllJudahrejoicedconcerning the oath, for they had sworn with their wholeheart and had sought Him earnestly*, and He let them find Him. So the LORDgave them rest on everyside.

He alsoremovedMaacah, the mother of KingAsa, from the position of queenmother, because she had made a horridimage as an Asherah, and Asacutdown her horridimage, crushed it and burned it at the brookKidron.
