See, the Sovereign LORD comes1 with power,2 and his arm3 rules4 for him. See, his reward5 is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.

He tends his flock like a shepherd:6 He gathers the lambs in his arms7 and carries them close to his heart;8 he gently leads9 those that have young.1012
Who has measured the waters11 in the hollow of his hand,12 or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens?13 Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?1413
Who has understood the minda15 of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor?1614
Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge17 or showed him the path of understanding?1815
Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales;19 he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.2016
Lebanon21 is not sufficient for altar fires, nor its animals22 enough for burnt offerings.

Before him all the nations23 are as nothing;24 they are regarded by him as worthless and less than nothing.2518
To whom, then, will you compare God?26 What image27 will you compare him to?

As for an idol,28 a craftsman casts it, and a goldsmith29 overlays it with gold30 and fashions silver chains for it.

A man too poor to present such an offering selects wood31 that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol32 that will not topple.33
