Isaiah 40:24-31 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
24 No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root1 in the ground, than he blows2 on them and they wither,3 and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.4 25 "To whom will you compare me?5 Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.6 26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:7 Who created8 all these? He who brings out the starry host9 one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength,10 not one of them is missing.11 27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God"?12 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard?13 The LORD is the everlasting14 God, the Creator15 of the ends of the earth.16 He will not grow tired or weary,17 and his understanding no one can fathom.18 29 He gives strength19 to the weary20 and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men21 stumble and fall;22 31 but those who hope23 in the LORD will renew their strength.24 They will soar on wings like eagles;25 they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.26
