like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest1 by the Spirit of the LORD. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.

Look down from heaven2 and see from your lofty throne,3 holy and glorious. Where are your zeal4 and your might? Your tenderness and compassion5 are withheld6 from us.

But you are our Father,7 though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge8 us; you, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer9 from of old is your name.

Why, O LORD, do you make us wander10 from your ways and harden our hearts11 so we do not revere12 you? Return13 for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your inheritance.1418
For a little while15 your people possessed your holy place, but now our enemies have trampled16 down your sanctuary.1719
We are yours from of old; but you have not ruled over them, they have not been called by your name.a18
