"Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth.1 The former things will not be remembered,2 nor will they come to mind.
But be glad and rejoice3 forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem4 to be a delight and its people a joy.
I will rejoice5 over Jerusalem and take delight6 in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying7 will be heard in it no more.
"Never again will there be in it an infant8 who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years;9 he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reacha a hundred will be considered accursed.
They will build houses10 and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.1122
No longer will they build houses and others live in them,12 or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree,13 so will be the days14 of my people; my chosen15 ones will long enjoy the works of their hands.
They will not toil in vain16 or bear children doomed to misfortune;17 for they will be a people blessed18 by the LORD, they and their descendants19 with them.
Before they call20 I will answer;21 while they are still speaking22 I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb23 will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox,24 but dust will be the serpent's25 food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,"26 says the LORD.
