In that day1 the Lord will use2 a razor hired from beyond the Rivera3--the king of Assyria4--to shave your head and the hair of your legs, and to take off your beards5 also.621
In that day,7 a man will keep alive a young cow and two goats.822
And because of the abundance of the milk they give, he will have curds to eat. All who remain in the land will eat curds9 and honey.1023
In that day,11 in every place where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels,b12 there will be only briers and thorns.1324
Men will go there with bow and arrow, for the land will be covered with briers14 and thorns.
As for all the hills15 once cultivated by the hoe, you will no longer go there for fear of the briers and thorns;16 they will become places where cattle are turned loose and where sheep run.17
