Job 26:5-14 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
5 "The dead are in deep anguish,1 those beneath the waters and all that live in them. 6 Deatha2 is naked before God; Destructionb3 lies uncovered.4 7 He spreads out the northern [skies]5 over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.6 8 He wraps up the waters7 in his clouds,8 yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. 9 He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds9 over it. 10 He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters10 for a boundary between light and darkness.11 11 The pillars of the heavens quake,12 aghast at his rebuke. 12 By his power he churned up the sea;13 by his wisdom14 he cut Rahab15 to pieces. 13 By his breath the skies16 became fair; his hand pierced the gliding serpent.17 14 And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper18 we hear of him!19 Who then can understand the thunder of his power?"20
