31 {when you built} your mound at [the] head of every street and your high place you made on every street, yet you were not like a prostitute, [as you were] scorning [your] harlot's wages.

Ezekiel 16:31

In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every
way Or brothel house, as before; (See Gill on Ezekiel 16:24); which showed her to be a whore, and an imperious one: and makest thine high place in every street;
(See Gill on Ezekiel 16:24); and hast not been as an harlot:
a common one, or as a harlot usually is: in that thou scornest hire;
which they do not; for it is for hire they prostitute themselves; and have their names, both in our language, and in the Latin tongue, from, thence.

29 And you increased your fornication to [the] land of traders, [to] Chaldea, and even with this you were not satisfied.
30 How hot with fever [was] your heart!' {declares} the Lord Yahweh. '{When you did} all of these actions {of a headstrong female prostitute},
31 {when you built} your mound at [the] head of every street and your high place you made on every street, yet you were not like a prostitute, [as you were] scorning [your] harlot's wages.
32 O, adulterous woman! In the place of her husband she received strangers.
33 To all prostitutes they give a fee, but you, you gave your gifts to all of your lovers, and you bribed them to come to you from all around in your whorings!
