2 Kings 18:1

Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah
king of Israel
That is, in the third year of his rebelling against the king of Assyria, when he shook off his yoke, and refused to be tributary to him any longer, see ( 2 Kings 17:1 ) ,

[that] Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign;
having finished the account of the kingdom of Israel, and the captivity of the people, the historian returns to the kingdom of Judah, and the things of it.

1 Im dritten Jahr Hoseas, des Sohnes Elas, des Königs über Israel, ward König Hiskia, der Sohn Ahas, des Königs in Juda.

2 Er war fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt, da er König ward, und regierte neunundzwanzig Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Abi, eine Tochter Sacharjas.

3 Und er tat, was dem HERRN wohl gefiel, wie sein Vater David.

4 Er tat ab die Höhen und zerbrach die Säulen und rottete das Ascherabild aus und zerstieß die eherne Schlange, die Mose gemacht hatte; denn bis zu der Zeit hatten ihr die Kinder Israel geräuchert, und man hieß sie Nehusthan.

5 Er vertraute dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, daß nach ihm seinesgleichen nicht war unter allen Königen Juda's noch vor ihm gewesen.
