23 And he took Gedsur and Aram, the towns of Jair from them; Canath and its towns, sixty cities. All these the sons of Machir the father of Galaad.

1 Chronicles 2:23

And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from
them
Cities or countries which the Geshurites and Aramaeans, or Syrians, before inhabited; and which he took from them, together with other towns, which, being taken by him, were called after his name; the Targum is, the Geshurites and Aramaeans took the villages of Jair from them; that is, from the sons of Jair in later times; see ( Joshua 12:5 ) ( 13:13 )

with Kenath, and the towns thereof;
which Jair took by Nobah his general, and called it after his name, ( Numbers 32:42 ) , even sixty cities; see ( Deuteronomy 3:4-14 ) ( Joshua 13:30 )

all these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead:
being given him by Moses, ( Numbers 32:40 ) ( Deuteronomy 3:15 ) .

21 And after this Esron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Galaad, and he took her when he was sixty-five years old; and she bore him Seruch.
22 And Seruch begot Jair, and he had twenty-three cities in Galaad.
23 And he took Gedsur and Aram, the towns of Jair from them; Canath and its towns, sixty cities. All these the sons of Machir the father of Galaad.
24 And after the death of Esron, Chaleb came to Ephratha; and the wife of Esron Abia; and she bore him Ascho the father of Thecoe.
25 And the sons of Jerameel the first-born of Esron , the first-born Ram, and Banaa, and Aram, and Asan his brother.
