16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

Giving to the Needy

1 "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6 "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. 32 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. 10 This is the one about whom it is written: " 'I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.' 2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 70 But he denied it before them all. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said.

Jesus Before Pilate

27:11-26pp -- Mk 15:2-15; Lk 23:2,3,18-25; Jn 18:29-19:16

11 Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. 29 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said.
