23 When Uzziah died, they buried him with his ancestors in a field next to the royal cemetery. His skin disease disqualified him from burial in the royal cemetery. His son Jotham became the next king.

2 Chronicles 26:23

So Uzziah slept with his fathers
Died as they did, the same year, according to Dr. Lightfoot ^F5, in which he was smitten with the leprosy; and in the year of his death it was Isaiah had the vision related in ( Isaiah 6:1 )

and they buried him with his fathers; (See Gill on 2 Kings 15:7).
