Psalms 106:35 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 106:35

But were mingled among the Heathen
Not only dwelt among them, but made covenants and contracts, carried on trade and commerce, and intermarried with them, contrary to the express law of God, ( Deuteronomy 7:2-4 ) . Nor should saints have communion with wicked men, especially in things sinful and superstitious, ( 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 ) ( Ephesians 5:11 ) .

And learned their works;
not their civil works and actions, their trades and business, but their idolatrous works; of which a detail is given in the following verses: "evil communications corrupt good manners", ( 1 Corinthians 15:33 ) .

Psalms 106:35 In-Context

33 Because they defied God yet again, Moses exploded and lost his temper.
34 They didn't wipe out those godless cultures as ordered by God;
35 Instead they intermarried with the heathen, and in time became just like them.
36 They worshiped their idols, were caught in the trap of idols.
37 They sacrificed their sons and daughters at the altars of demon gods.
