Psalms 139:22

22 I hate it with pure, unadulterated hatred. Your enemies are my enemies!

Psalms 139:22 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 139:22

I hate them with perfect hatred
Heartily and really; not in word only, but in deed and in truth; "odio vatiniano", with consummate hatred: this is an answer to his own question;

I count them mine enemies;
being the enemies of God: the friends of God were David's friends, as angels and good men, and God's enemies were his; their friends and enemies, were common; so closely allied and attached were they to each other, as God and all good men are.

Psalms 139:22 In-Context

20 all the men and women who belittle you, God, infatuated with cheap god-imitations.
21 See how I hate those who hate you, God, see how I loathe all this godless arrogance;
22 I hate it with pure, unadulterated hatred. Your enemies are my enemies!
23 Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I'm about;
24 See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong - then guide me on the road to eternal life.
