1
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to 1spiritualmen, but as to 2men of flesh, as to 3infants in Christ.
2
I gave you 4milk to drink, not solid food ; for you 5were not yetable to receive it. Indeed, evennow you are not yetable,
3
for you are stillfleshly. For since there is 6jealousy and strifeamong you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walkinga7like mere men ?
4
For when8onesays, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere 9men ?
5Whatthen is Apollos ? And what is Paul ? 10Servantsthroughwhom you believed, even11as the Lordgave opportunity to eachone.
612I planted, 13Apolloswatered, but 14God was causing the growth.
7Sothenneither the one who plantsnor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.
8Now he who plants and he who waters are one ; but each will 15receive his ownbrewardaccording to his ownlabor.
9
For we are God's16fellowworkers ; you are God'sc17field, God's18building.
10According to 19the grace of God which was given to me, like a wisemasterbuilder20I laid a foundation, and 21another is building on it. But eachman must be carefulhow he builds on it.
11
For nomancanlay a 22foundationotherthan the one which is laid, which is JesusChrist.
12Nowifanymanbuilds on the foundation with gold, silver, dpreciousstones, wood, hay, straw,
1323eachman'swork will becomeevident ; for 24the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fireitself will testethe quality of eachman'swork.
14Ifanyman'sworkwhich he has built on it remains, he will 25receive a reward.
15Ifanyman'swork is burned up, he will sufferloss ; but he himself will be saved, yet26so as throughfire.
1627Do you not know that 28you are a ftemple of God and that the Spirit of Goddwells in you?
17Ifanymandestroys the gtemple of God, God will destroy him, for the htemple of God is holy, and ithat is what you are.
1829Let nomandeceivehimself. 30Ifanymanamong you thinks that he is wise in 31thisage, he must becomefoolish, so that he may becomewise.
19
For 32the wisdom of thisworld is foolishnessbeforeGod. For it is written, "He is 33THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS ";
20
and again, "34THE LORDKNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS."
21Sothen35let nooneboast in men. For 36allthingsbelong to you,
2237whetherPaulorApollosorCephasor the worldor38lifeordeathorthingspresentorthings to come ; allthings belong to you,
23
and 39you belong to Christ ; and 40Christ belongs to God.
