For the word of the cross is 3foolishness to 4those who bare perishing, but to us who care being saved it is 5the power of God.
For it is written, "6I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SETASIDE."
207Where is the wiseman? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of 8thisage? Has not God9madefoolish the wisdom of 10the world?
For since in the wisdom of God11the worldthrough its wisdom did not come to knowGod, 12God was well-pleasedthrough the 13foolishness of the dmessagepreached to 14savethose who believe.
For indeed15Jewsask for esigns and Greekssearch for wisdom;
but we preachf16Christcrucified, 17to Jews a stumblingblock and to Gentiles18foolishness,
but to those who are 19the called, bothJews and Greeks, Christ20the power of God and 21the wisdom of God.
25Because the 22foolishness of God is wiser than men, and 23the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For gconsider your 24calling, brethren, that there were 25not manywiseaccording to hthe flesh, not manymighty, not manynoble;
but 26God has chosen the foolishthings of 27the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weakthings of 28the world to shame the things which are strong,
and the basethings of 29the world and the despisedGod has chosen, 30the things that are not, so that He may 31nullify the things that are,
29so that 32noiman may boastbeforeGod.
But jby His doing you are in 33ChristJesus, whobecame to us 34wisdom from God, kand 35righteousness and 36sanctification, and 37redemption,
31so that, just as it is written, "38LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD."
