1 John 1:3-10

3 what we have ¹seen and ²heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our ³fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

4 ⁴These things we write, so that our ⁵joy may be made complete.

God Is Light

5 ⁶This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that ⁷God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

6 ⁸If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we ⁹lie and ¹⁰do not practice the truth;

7 but if we ¹¹walk in the Light as ¹²He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and ¹³the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

8 ¹⁴If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the ¹⁵truth is not in us.

9 ¹⁶If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and ¹⁷to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 ¹⁸If we say that we have not sinned, we ¹⁹make Him a liar and ²⁰His word is not in us.
