5Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who 1believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6This is the One who came2by water and blood, JesusChrist; not awith the wateronly, but bwith the water and cwith the blood. It is 3the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
For there are 4three that testify:
8dthe Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are ein agreement.
95If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that 6He has testifiedconcerning His Son.
The one who believes in the Son of God7has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believeGod has 8made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has givenconcerning His Son.
And the testimony is this, that God has given us 9eternallife, and 10thislife is in His Son.
1211He who has the Sonhas the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
1312Thesethings I have written to you who 13believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have14eternallife.
14This is 15the confidencewhich we havefbefore Him, that, 16if we askanythingaccording to His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, 17we know that we have the requestswhich we have asked from Him.
