101It came about 2at the end of twentyyears in whichSolomon had built the twohouses, the house of the LORD and the king'shouse
11
(Hiramking of Tyre had suppliedSolomon with cedar and cypresstimber and gold according to all his desire ), thenKingSolomongaveHiramtwentycities in the land of Galilee.
12
So Hiramcame out from Tyre to see the citieswhichSolomon had given him, and they did not please* him.
13
He said, "What are thesecitieswhich you have given me, my brother?" So they were called the land of 3Cabul to thisday.
15
Now this is the account of the forcedlaborwhichKingSolomon5levied to build the house of the LORD, his own house, the 6Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, 7Hazor, 8Megiddo, and 9Gezer.
16
For Pharaohking of Egypt had gone up and capturedGezer and burned it with fire, and killed the 10Canaanites who lived in the city, and had 11given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon'swife.
17
So SolomonrebuiltGezer and the lower12Beth-horon
18
and 13Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,
19
and all the storagecitieswhichSolomonhad, even 14the cities for his chariots and the cities for 15his horsemen, and 16all that it pleased*Solomon to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land under his rule.
20
As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were not of the sons of Israel,
21
17their descendantswho were leftafter them in the land18whom the sons of Israel were unable* to destroyutterly, 19from them Solomonlevied20forcedlaborers*, even to thisday.
22
But Solomon21did not makeslaves of the sons of Israel; for they were men of war, his servants, his princes, his captains, his chariotcommanders, and his horsemen.
23
These were the 22chiefofficerswho were overSolomon'swork, fivehundred and fifty, 23who ruled over the peopledoing the work.
24
As soon as 24Pharaoh'sdaughtercame up from the city of David to her housewhich Solomon had built for her, 25then he built the Millo.
25
Now 26threetimes in a yearSolomonofferedburntofferings and peaceofferings on the altarwhich he built to the LORD, burningincense with them on the altar which was before the LORD. So he finished the house.
26
KingSolomon also built a 27fleet of ships in 28Ezion-geber, which is nearEloth on the shore of the Red*Sea, in the land of Edom.
27
29And Hiramsent his servants with the fleet, sailors* who knew the sea, along with the servants of Solomon.
28
They went to 30Ophir and tookfourhundred and twentytalents of gold from there, and brought it to KingSolomon.
