11Jotham was twenty-five*yearsold when he becameking, and he reignedsixteen*years in Jerusalem. And his mother'sname was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.

He didright in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fatherUzziah had done; 2however he did not enter the temple of the LORD. But the peoplecontinuedactingcorruptly.

He built the uppergate of the house of the LORD, and he builtextensively the wall of 3Ophel.

Moreover, he built4cities in the hillcountry of Judah, and he builtfortresses and towers on the wooded hills.

He fought also with the king of the Ammonites* and prevailedover them so that the Ammonites*gave him during that year one hundredtalents of silver, tenthousandkors of wheat and tenthousand of barley. The Ammonites* also paid him this amount in the second and in the thirdyear.

5So Jothambecamemightybecause he ordered his waysbefore the LORD his God.

6Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, even all his wars and his acts, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
