then hear from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
36"When they sin against You (1for there is nomanwho does not sin ) and You are angry with them and deliver them to an enemy, so that athey take them away captive to a landfar off ornear,
if they btakethought in the landwhere they are takencaptive, and repent and makesupplication to You in the land of their captivity, saying, 'We have sinned, we have committediniquity and have actedwickedly ';
382if they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been takencaptive, and praytoward their landwhich You have given to their fathers and the citywhich You have chosen, and toward the housewhich I have built for Your name,
then hear from heaven, from Your dwellingplace, their prayer and supplications, and maintain their cause and forgive Your peoplewho have sinned against You.
40"Now, O my God, I pray, 3let Your eyes be open and 4Your earsattentive to the prayer offered in thisplace.
"5Now therefore arise, O LORDGod, to Your restingplace, You and the ark of Your might; let Your priests, O LORDGod, be clothed with salvation and let Your godlyonesrejoice in what is good.
