But Solomon did not makeslaves for his work from the sons of Israel; they were men of war, his chiefcaptains and commanders of his chariots and his horsemen.

These were the chiefofficers of KingSolomon, two hundred and fifty who ruled over the people.

1Then SolomonbroughtPharaoh'sdaughter up from the city of David to the housewhich he had built for her, for he said, "My wife shall not dwell in the house of Davidking of Israel, because the places are holywhere the ark of the LORD has entered."

ThenSolomonofferedburntofferings to the LORD on 2the altar of the LORDwhich he had builtbefore the porch;

and 3did so according to the dailyrule, offering them up 4according to the commandment of Moses, for 5the sabbaths, 6the newmoons and the 7threeannual*feasts -the Feast of UnleavenedBread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Booths.

Now according to the ordinance of his fatherDavid, he appointed8the divisions of the priests for their service, and 9the Levites for their duties of praise and ministeringbefore the priests according to the dailyrule, and 10the gatekeepers by their divisions at everygate; for 11David the man of God had socommanded.

And they did not depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites in anymanner or concerning the storehouses.

Thus all the work of Solomon was carried out from the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was completed.

ThenSolomonwent to 12Ezion-geber and to 13Eloth on the seashore* in the land of Edom.

And Huram by his servantssent him ships and servants who knew the sea; and they went with Solomon'sservants to Ophir, and 14took from therefourhundred and fiftytalents of gold and brought them to KingSolomon.
