161Again I say, let noonethink me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little.
17What I am saying, I am not sayinga2as the Lord would, but as 3in foolishness, in thisconfidence of boasting.
18Since4manyboast5according to the flesh, I will boastalso.
For you, 6being so wise, tolerate the foolishgladly.
For you tolerate it ifanyone7enslaves you, anyone8devours you, anyone9takes advantage of you, anyone10exalts himself, anyone11hits you in the face.
To my 12shame I must say that we have been 13weak by comparison. But in whatever respect anyone else 14is bold -I 15speak in foolishness -I amjust as boldmyself.
Are they 16Hebrews? 17So am I. Are they 18Israelites? 19So am I. Are they b20descendants of Abraham? 21So am I.
Are they 22servants of Christ?-I speak as if insane -I moreso; in c23farmorelabors, in d24farmoreimprisonments, e25beatentimeswithoutnumber, often in 26danger of death.
24Fivetimes I received from the Jews27thirty-nine lashes.
25Threetimes I was 28beaten with rods, once I was 29stoned, threetimes I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep.
I have been on frequentjourneys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 30countrymen, dangers from the 31Gentiles, dangers in the 32city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangersamong33falsebrethren;
I have been in 34labor and hardship, fthroughmanysleeplessnights, in 35hunger and thirst, often36withoutfood, in cold and g37exposure.
28Apart from such hexternal things, there is the dailypressure on me of concern for 38all the churches.
29Who is 39weakwithout my being weak? Who is iled into sinjwithout my intenseconcern?
30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 40weakness.
The God and Father of the LordJesus, 41He who is blessedforever, 42knows that I am not lying.
In 43Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 44guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me,
and I was letdown in a basket45through a windowkin the wall, and so escaped his hands.
