For our aproudconfidence is this: the testimony of 1our conscience, that in holiness and 2godlysincerity, 3not in fleshlywisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especiallytoward you.
For we writenothingelse to you thanwhat you read and understand, and I hope you will understand4until the end;
14just as you alsopartially did understand us, that we are your reason to be proud as you also are ours, in 5the day of our LordJesus.
In thisconfidence I intended at first to 6come to you, so that you might btwicereceive a c7blessing;
16dthat is, to 8passeyour way into 9Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and by you to be 10helped on my journey to Judea.
17Therefore, I was not vacillating when I intended to do this, was I? Orwhat I purpose, do I purpose11according to the flesh, so that with me there will be yes, yes and no, no at the same time?
But as 12God is faithful, 13our word to you is not yes and no.
For 14the Son of God, ChristJesus, who was preachedamong you by us-by me and 15Silvanus and 16Timothy -was not yes and no, but is yes17in Him.
For 18as many as are the promises of God, 19in Him they are yes; thereforealsothrough Him is 20our Amen to the glory of Godthrough us.
21Now He who 21establishes us with you in Christ and 22anointed us is God,
who also23sealed us and 24gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a fpledge.
But 25I callGod as witnessgto my soul, that 26to spare you I did not comeagain to 27Corinth.
Not that we 28lord it over your faith, but are workers with you for your joy; for in your faith you are 29standingfirm.
