1 aSimon Peter, a 1bond-servant and 2apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received 3a faith of the same bkind as ours, cby 4the righteousness of 5our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: 2 6Grace and peace be multiplied to you in 7the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3 seeing that His 8divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true 9knowledge of Him who 10called us dby His own glory and eexcellence. 4 fFor by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent 11promises, so that by them you may become 12partakers of the divine nature, having 13escaped the 14corruption that is in 15the world by lust. 5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith 16supply 17moral gexcellence, and in your moral excellence, 18knowledge, 6 and in your knowledge, 19self-control, and in your self-control, 20perseverance, and in your perseverance, 21godliness, 7 and in your godliness, 22brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.
