View In My Bible
3 We ought always 1to give thanks to God for you, 2brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the 3love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; 4 therefore, we ourselves 4speak proudly of you among 5the churches of God for your aperseverance and faith 6in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. 5 This is a 7plain indication of God's righteous judgment so that you will be 8considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. 6 bFor after all 9it is only just cfor God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted dand to us as well e10when the Lord Jesus will be revealed 11from heaven 12with fHis mighty angels 13in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who 14do not know God and to those who 15do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These will pay the penalty of 16eternal destruction, 17away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be 18glorified gin His hsaints on that 19day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed -for our 20testimony to you was believed. 11 To this end also we 21pray for you always, that our God will i22count you worthy of your 23calling, and fulfill every desire for 24goodness and the 25work of faith with power, 12 so that the 26name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
