Acts 15:23-33

and they sent this letter by them, "1The apostles and the brethren who are elders, to 2the brethren in 3Antioch and 4Syria and 5Cilicia who are from the Gentiles, 6greetings.
"Since we have heard that 7some of our number to whom we gave no instruction have 8disturbed you with their words, unsettling your souls,
9 it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
men who have 10risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"Therefore we have sent 11Judas and 12Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth.
"For 13it seemed good to 14the Holy Spirit and to 15us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:
that you abstain from 16things sacrificed to idols and from 17blood and from 18things strangled and from 19fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell."
So when they were sent away, 20they went down to Antioch; and having gathered the congregation together, they delivered the letter.
When they had read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement.
21Judas and 22Silas, also being 23prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened 24the brethren with a lengthy message.
After they had spent time there, they were sent away from the brethren 25in peace to those who had 26sent them out.
