And they alltookhold of 1Sosthenes, 2the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of 3the judgmentseat. But Gallio was not concerned about any of thesethings.

Paul, having remainedmanydayslonger, 4tookleave of 5the brethren and put out to sea for 6Syria, and with him were 7Priscilla and 8Aquila. In 9Cenchrea he 10had his haircut, for he was keeping a vow.

They came to 11Ephesus, and he left them there. Now he himselfentered12the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

When they asked him to stay for a longertime, he did not consent,

but 13takingleave of them and saying, "I will return to you again14if Godwills," he setsail from 15Ephesus.

When he had landed at 16Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and wentdown to 17Antioch.
Third Missionary Journey
23 And having spentsometime there, he left and passedsuccessivelythrough the 18Galatianregion and Phrygia, strengtheningall the disciples.

Now a Jewnamed19Apollos, an 20Alexandrian by birth, an eloquentman, came to 21Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures.

Thisman had beeninstructed in 22the way of the Lord; and beingfervent in spirit, he was speaking and teachingaccurately the things concerningJesus, beingacquaintedonly with 23the baptism of John;

and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when 24Priscilla and Aquilaheard him, they took him aside and explained to him 25the way of Godmoreaccurately.

And when he wanted to goacross to 26Achaia, 27the brethrenencouraged him and wrote to 28the disciples to welcome him; and when he had arrived, he greatlyhelpedthose who had believedthroughgrace,
