Then2Agrippa said to Festus, "I also would like to hear the manmyself." "Tomorrow," he said, "you shall hear him."

23So, on the nextday when 3Agrippacametogether with 4Berniceamidgreatpomp, and entered the auditoriumaccompanied by the commanders and the prominentmen of the city, at the command of Festus, Paul was brought in.

Festussaid, "KingAgrippa, and all you gentlemenherepresent with us, you seethismanaboutwhom5all the people of the Jewsappealed to me, both at Jerusalem and here, loudlydeclaring that 6he ought not to liveanylonger.

"But I found that he had committed7nothingworthy of death; and since he himself8appealed to the Emperor, I decided to send him.

"Yet I havenothingdefiniteabout him to write to my lord. Therefore I have brought him before you all and especiallybefore you, KingAgrippa, so that after the investigation has takenplace, I may havesomething to write.

"For it seemsabsurd to me in sending a prisoner, not to indicatealso the chargesagainst him."
