24Festussaid, "KingAgrippa, and all you gentlemenherepresent with us, you seethismanaboutwhom3all the people of the Jewsappealed to me, both at Jerusalem and here, loudlydeclaring that 4he ought not to liveanylonger.

"But I found that he had committed5nothingworthy of death ; and since he himself6appealed to dthe Emperor, I decided to send him.

"eYet I havenothingdefiniteabout him to write to my lord. Therefore I have brought him before you all and especiallybefore you, KingAgrippa, so that after the investigation has takenplace, I may havesomething to write.

"For it seemsabsurd to me in sending a prisoner, not to indicatealso the chargesagainst him."
